SHOP ALBEMARLE DOWNTOWN FIRST SATURDAYS … SEPTEMBER!

           Update Your Profile Picture

In an effort to raise awareness of what the Albemarle Downtown businesses have to offer residents and visitors to our area, the businesses have been participating in a monthly promotional called “Shop Albemarle Downtown First Saturdays”.  As the name indicates, the monthly promotional is usually held the first Saturday of each month.

September is a little different, though . . .in conjunction with the Annual Community-Wide Yard Sale at Christ Episcopal Church, located at 428 Pee Dee Avenue, Albemarle, North Carolina, participating Downtown businesses will be having sidewalk sales and various specials.

Artistic Life Photography, Inc., will be open and participating in this event with a “Help Us Clean Out The Studio” sidewalk sale.  We will have tables outside the studio that will have some of our older studio décor and prop items, as well as some of the smaller, framed print products previously on display (we are making room for fresh faces and new products!).  And while we’ll have lots of deals for the sidewalk sale, we’ll be having fun on the inside, too!  If you are a high school or college student, call or email now to reserve your spot for a mini Facebook Profile picture upgrade.  There is no charge for the mini session and you are under no obligation to purchase anything.  You will need to come dressed and ready, and your mini session will last approximately five to ten minutes.  You are welcome to bring friends – we’ll be glad to get some group images as well as individuals.  We’ll also have light snacks for you to enjoy, some limited-time session specials, and even a few give-aways while you visit us at the studio. The images will be placed online for viewing (you will receive information the day of your mini session about how to access the images), and once you let us know which image is your favorite, we will email you a lo-res, watermarked social media image for you to use online.  Nope, no strings.  No pressure.  Nada.   Nothing.  Seriously.  But if you like what you see when you visit us, just remember where we’re located.

While you’re Downtown, visit the other local businesses for sales and specials at each participating location, go to the Farmer’s Market for some fresh goodies, and don’t forget the Annual Community Wide Yard Sale at Christ Episcopal Church.  FYI – if you’re interested in reserving a free spot at the Yard Sale (Yes, Free! – you just have to provide your own table), call the church office at 704-982-1428 to reserve your space.

THE SEARCH IS ON FOR SENIOR REPRESENTATIVES!

ATTENTION! Class of 2012! Artistic Life Photography, Inc., is now accepting applications for ALP Senior Style Representatives.

 WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

*Fun and creative individuals who have an involved and outgoing presence.

*Students who are comfortable in front of the camera and are willing to try new poses and bring your own flair and    ideas to the session.

*Students who are excited about their sessions and excited about promoting us to their friends.

 HOW DOES IT ALL WORK?

*We select two awesome Senior Representatives from each school (usually one guy and one girl).

*We provide a set of 100 personalized, custom-designed referral cards to give out to your friends.  The referral cards will have your name and image, and our studio contact information.

*You pass out the cards to all your friends, show them images from your session, and be excited about your photos.

*We offer free wallets to all the seniors that come to us with your name.

*They give us the referral card.  When they schedule, pay for and complete their own senior portrait session, you receive portrait/product credits towards your own order.

WHAT DO YOU GET OUT OF THE DEAL?

*A complimentary one-hour session, usually scheduled the summer before, or the fall of, your senior year.

*An additional complimentary session of your choice (as scheduling allows).  Choose from a BBF (Besties! Buds! And Friends!) session, a Prom/Rock The Dress/Rock The Tux session, or a Cap & Gown/ Graduation session (scheduled any time after you’ve received your cap, gown and tassel from your school).

*Five (5) complimentary (lo-res, watermarked) images to use on Facebook or other social media. [A Social Media Acknowledgment will need to be signed before  images are released].

*$20.00 credit earned for every student referred with each paid session fee (at the regular session price) and completed session and viewing/ordering appointment.  This allows you to earn wall portraits, wallets, jewelry, custom graduation announcements, an amazing senior album or guest register book to display at your graduation party, and many other products.  (Booking student must return a referral card for you to receive credit for the session).

     * Your parents are eligible to receive a family session at 50% off the regular session fee and 10% off any prints/products ordered at the viewing/ordering portion of the family session.

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BE A SENIOR REPRESENTATIVE?

*Have great style, lots of personality, and be comfortable in front of the camera.

*Be a rising/current high school senior graduating in 2012.

*Be willing to represent Artistic Life Photography, Inc., in a fun but responsible way.  Hand out your referral cards, show your images and be excited about them, but bad-mouthing other photographers will not be tolerated.

*Agree to represent ONLY Artistic Life Photography, Inc., and use the images taken as your Senior Pictures.  Other than the normally-required yearbook photo, you will be asked not to have senior pictures taken by any other photographer or studio – you are being compensated and contracted to represent Artistic Life Photography, Inc., only.

*Have your parents or legal guardians sign a photo release form on your behalf.

SO WHAT’S NEXT?

*If a Representative position is available for your school, and if you are chosen as a finalist, you will be asked to schedule a time to come into the studio to meet with us personally and have a quick mini session lasting about 15-20 minutes.  There is no charge to you or your parents for this session.

*If you have been chosen as an ALP Senior Style Representative once final selections are made, we will email you an ALP Senior Style Representative Agreement and a Senior Portrait Profile Questionnaire for you to complete and return.  The information you provide on the Questionnaire will not only assist us in finding out what makes you “You”, it will also give us material to use on our blog when we do a profile write-up introducing you.

*We will work with you to schedule a mutually-convenient time for you and your parents or guardians to come in and speak with us, sign the required Agreements and Releases, answer any questions you may have about the ALP Experience, and schedule your first ALP Senior Style Portrait Session.  This will also give you and your parents the opportunity to see, first hand, types of products we offer and begin thinking about the things you’d really like to have. (Don’t worry about “affording it all” right now – remember that depending upon your success in the Representative program, you may earn enough credits to get most, if not all, of the items you want!)

*At the time of your first portrait session, we will work with you to schedule a time for you and your family to come back into the studio for a viewing/ordering session.  We will have some light snacks for everyone present, you will view a custom-designed slideshow of images from your session and you will get a peek at what your custom-designed Representative cards will look like.  You may also want to consider scheduling your second session at this time to make sure the type of session and the date you want are available.

Big congrats to you on this huge accomplishment!  You are now a SENIOR!!  Remember this incredible time with portraiture and products from sessions that will be uniquely YOU!

While we’re in the process of transitioning from our previous blog to our current one, I thought I would post a quick little teaser image from last week’s graduation.  Best wishes to all the high school and college students graduating this year.  More images to follow later.
